My Egyptian friend just emailed me that it's their xmas (he's Coptic). I want to go back and am kind of bummed that I spent too little time and now I have to get back to work plus get a roommate. Bummer........but I got to see Alexandria, home to Catherine of Alexandria, one of Jeanne D'Arc's saints.
So the film Alexander is in the news and it's making headlines for being a so-called failure. Well, what is the purpose of art, anyhow? To make money? If you want to make quick money or quick fame, I guess stay away from gay themes. And cast actors based on their acting ability, not their bankability. But this is a fascinating topic to me because I did believe in this film, flawed as it is, and don't think it deserves all this negative press. But they say even bad press is good, so maybe it's on purpose. I'm digressing anyhow.
Since I'm not traveling now, only preparing to (it's gonna be a concerted effort) I may move my blog elsewhere. But all I think about is going somewhere.....the UK, Germany (or all over Europe), Egypt again, maybe even Israel, Lebanon, SE Asia......I was told I can work in Egypt. I can be an English teacher in many places. I want to make money and prefer to be paid in UK pounds. I'm not kidding. Any suggestions out there?
