past travels

In the past I traveled through Europe, alone. Really, even alone you're not alone. So those scared to do it, do it!
I went to France, my third visit. Personally, I love love love Paris. I know that Americans generally don't like the French and among other things I've heard them accused of being racist and anti-Semetic but you have to take these things with a grain of salt. Or that people won't talk to you if you're not wearing a million dollar outfit. I personally have known people of all races and religions who have lived in France and Germany and they were fine, as far as I know. But everyone has their own story.
Still, Paris is a gorgeous, brilliant city. So many brilliant people lived here like among others Simone de Beauvoir and the Fitzgeralds, and it's hard to understand if you haven't been there. The Left Bank is very left and that's why I like it.

The problem is, there is sexism in this place, although it's certainly not limited to here. Sort of ironic that so much of Western feminism began here yet women are often treated like property.
BUt I'd say in your lifetime, definitely go to Paris, regardless. Forget the stereotypes: the people are great, the food's great, the history is great.
Jeanne D'Arc, in my opinion one of the original feminists (many will dispute this) came from France.
